Promoção da autotranscendência na prevenção do suicídio em jovens: contributo do enfermeiro especialista em saúde mental e psiquiátrica

Abstract

O presente relatório descreve o percurso realizado ao longo do estágio do Mestrado em Enfermagem, orientado para a aquisição e consolidação de competências do Enfermeiro Especialista de Saúde Mental e Psiquiátrica. O trabalho incidiu na promoção da saúde mental e na prevenção do suicídio em jovens, privilegiando a identificação de necessidades, o reforço de fatores protetores e a construção de intervenções ajustadas aos contextos de cuidados evidenciando a relevância do papel do enfermeiro especialista. Recorreu-se à metodologia de projeto, articulada com uma abordagem descritiva, reflexiva e analítica, sustentada na prática clínica e no enquadramento teórico. Entre os aspetos centrais do percurso destaca-se a conceção e implementação de um programa psicoeducativo dirigido a jovens, orientado para a promoção de competências socioemocionais, literacia em saúde mental e estratégias de proteção; - PROMOTING SELF-TRANSCENDENCE IN SUICIDE PREVENTION IN YOUNG PEOPLE: CONTRIBUTION FROM A NURSE SPECIALIST IN MENTAL AND PSICHIATRIC HEALTH ABSTRACT: This report describes the trajectory undertaken throughout the Master’s Degree internship in Nursing, aimed at the acquisition and consolidation of competencies as a Specialist Nurse in Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing. The work focused on the promotion of mental health and the prevention of suicide among young people, emphasising the identification of needs, the strengthening of protective factors, and the development of interventions tailored to care contexts, thereby highlighting the relevance of the specialist nurse’s role. A project methodology was adopted, combined with a descriptive, reflective, and analytical approach, grounded in clinical practice and theoretical framing. Among the central aspects of this journey, particular emphasis is given to the design and implementation of a psychoeducational programme aimed at young people, focused on the promotion of socio-emotional skills, mental health literacy, and protective strategies.
