Abstract

O presente relatório descreve o estágio curricular realizado no âmbito do Mestrado Integrado em Medicina Veterinária da Universidade de Évora. Neste período, foram acompanhadas atividades clínicas diversificadas, com ênfase nas áreas de ortopedia e dentisteria, bem como outras intervenções em medicina interna, reprodução, imagiologia e acompanhamento de emergências. A caracterização da casuística inclui a identificação e discussão de casos representativos, realçando a integração de métodos diagnósticos clínicos e complementares. Complementarmente, apresenta-se uma monografia aprofundada sobre a síndrome podotroclear, explorando a sua patogenia, abordagem diagnóstica, opções terapêuticas e impacto no desempenho e bem-estar dos equinos. Este trabalho reflete a importância de uma prática clínica abrangente e fundamentada, enfatizando a complementaridade entre experiência de campo e reflexão científica na formação do médico veterinário; - Equine Clinic Abstract: The present report describes the curricular internship carried out within the scope of the Integrated Master’s Degree in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Évora. During this period, diversified clinical activities were accompanied, with emphasis on the areas of orthopedics and dentistry, as well as other interventions in internal medicine, reproduction, imaging, and emergency support. The characterization of the observed clinical cases includes the identification and discussion of representative cases, highlighting the integration of clinical and complementary diagnostic methods. Complementarily, an in-depth monograph on podotrochlear syndrome is presented, exploring its pathogenesis, diagnostic approach, therapeutic options, and impact on the performance and well-being of horses. This work reflects the importance of comprehensive and well-grounded clinical practice, emphasizing the complementarity between field experience and scientific reflection in the training of the veterinary clinician.
