O texto procura avaliar a importância do livro "El tema de nuestro tiempo", publicado em 1923, quanto à demarcação, por José Ortega y Gasset, das tradicionais filosofias racionalistas e vitalistas. A categoria de "razão vital" é correlacionada com o perspectivismo defendido pelo filósofo espanhol e é apresentada como a base da sua compreensão mais madura da "razão histórica".__________________________________The text seeks to assess the importance of the book ‘El tema de nuestro tiempo’ (The Theme of Our Time), published in 1923, in terms of José Ortega y Gasset's demarcation of traditional rationalist and vitalist philosophies. The category of ‘vital reason’ is correlated with the perspectivism defended by the Spanish philosopher and is presented as the basis for his more mature understanding of ‘historical reason’.
