Abstract: The study aims to characterise the ABL conditions associated with the largest wildfire event that occurred in Portugal in 2019. The Meso-NH atmospheric model is used to represent the local and mesoscale environment during this event. From the Richardson number method, ABL height depicted a growing in the morning that reached a peak height by midafternoon. The ABL height ranged from 500 to 900 m throughout the afternoon and evening during the entire study period.
