Abstract: This lecture intends to reflect the relationship between time and movement, with the theme of landscape in visual arts and cinema. The human notion of time is intimately linked to the perceptions provided by the senses - with emphasis certainly on the sense of sight - which means that the human notion of time is directly influenced by light and movement. The way in which the physical world is observed, how it registers visually and assumes its visual power is profoundly relevant to the handling of landscape materials in cinema.
