| Abstract: | A cultural study of the autobiographical representation of a Victorian novelist, based on a critical agenda springing from studies of identity and studies of gender. The critical analysis is framed by the concept of autobiography as a landscape of the self, where the strategies of self-representation are approached both as a political act and as a simple story of a woman. |
