O desafio de sentir: um caminho para a promoção do desenvolvimento emocional na primeira infância

Abstract

A enfermagem, sendo caracterizada pela arte do cuidar, não pode ficar indiferente à emoção humana. O Enfermeiro Especialista em Enfermagem de Saúde Infantil e Pediátrica trabalha sempre em parceria de cuidados, competindo-lhe acompanhar a criança/ jovem e família durante todo o percurso de saúde/doença, em qualquer contexto em que ela se encontre, numa abordagem ética, holística e culturalmente sensível. Um dos focos de atenção do Enfermeiro Especialista em Enfermagem de Saúde Infantil e Pediátrica é a avaliação e a promoção do desenvolvimento infantil adequado. Sabe-se que com a Pandemia por Covid-19 e todas as restrições a si impostas, o processo de socialização foi limitado, o que acarreta consequências no desenvolvimento infantil, principalmente a nível emocional. Deste modo, emerge a importância de pensar em estratégias que possam promover um desenvolvimento emocional adequado. Ancorado pela fundamentação teórica e pela fase pandémica vivenciada, com recurso à metodologia de projeto e integrando a linha de investigação “segurança e qualidade de vida”, a temática do Projeto de Estágio insere-se no âmbito do desenvolvimento emocional. Sendo o seu objetivo geral a promoção do desenvolvimento emocional durante a primeira infância, relatam-se as diversas atividades realizadas nos estágios, que foram desenvolvidas atendendo à maior necessidade de intervenção nos respetivos Serviços. Apresenta-se ainda uma análise reflexiva das competências adquiridas e desenvolvidas, de Enfermeiro Especialista e de Mestre, durante o percurso formativo, pretendendo-se com o presente relatório divulgar os resultados desse percurso. Com a elaboração do Projeto de Estágio, conclui-se que é de extrema importância trabalhar a vertente emocional com as crianças e suas famílias, uma vez que se durante a infância a criança aprender a expressar e a gerir as suas emoções corretamente, crescerá mais saudável e com uma maior capacidade de desenvolver características e talentos que se manifestarão na sua vida adulta; Abstract: Title: The challenge of feeling: a path to promoting emotional development in early childhood Nursing, characterized by the art of caring, cannot remain indifferent to human emotion. The Specialist in Child and Pediatric Health Nurse always works in a care partnership, being responsible for accompanying the child/young person and family throughout their health/illness journey, in any context in which they find themselves, in an ethical, holistic and culturally sensitive approach. One of the focuses of the Specialist in Child and Pediatric Health Nurse is the assessment and promotion of adequate child development. It is known that with the Covid-19 Pandemic and all the restrictions imposed due to it, the socialization process was limited, which has consequences in child development, especially on an emotional level. Thus, the importance of thinking about strategies that can promote adequate emotional development emerges. Based on the theoretical reasoning and the pandemic phase experienced, using the project methodology and integrating the research line “safety and quality of life”, the theme of this Internship Project falls within the scope of emotional development. With the objective of promoting emotional development during early childhood, various activities carried out in the different internships are described, taking into account the greater need for intervention in the respective Services/Departments. It is also presented a reflective analysis of the skills acquired and developed, by Specialist and Master Nurse, during the formative path, being the aim of this report to disclose the results of that work. With the elaboration of this Internship Project, it is concluded that it is extremely important to work on the emotional aspect with children and their families, since, if during childhood the child learns to express and manage their emotions correctly, they will grow up healthier and with a greater ability to develop characteristics and talents that will manifest in their adult life.
