Abstract: | The effects of playing at home in basketball have always been considered as a sixth player advantage. This chapter aimed to describe the multiple determinants related to the home advantage (HA) such as the players’ experience, court-position, and sex; the teams’ strategy and tactics; regular season or play-off; and travel effects. The inherent effects associated with this phenomenon are not homogeneous among players and not consensual at a team level. Additionally, the chapter focuses on several external factors, difficult to control, but susceptible to affect players and teams’ performance. |
