Lugares polifónicos. A interação de vozes em arte telemática por meio de uma aplicação móvel para smartphone

Abstract

No contexto atual da arte telemática contemporânea constata-se a não existência de aplicações móveis artísticas que enfatizem a conversação criativa entre espectadores utilizadores e recitadores improvisadores digitais. A tese teórico-prática de doutoramento apresenta uma investigação no campo específico da app art, que busca analisar a solução estética e tecnológica para a criação de uma experiência interativa telecolaborativa, por meio de uma aplicação móvel web progressiva para smartphone intitulada Lugares Polifónicos. Intersectando a condição de instantaneidade da disseminação global das tecnologias de telecomunicação com a homogeneização da autocomunicação mediada pelos dispositivos digitais móveis, a investigação foi ancorada nos contributos teóricos dos autores Gene Younglood, Manuel Castells e Vilém Flusser. A conceptualização da obra prática, acessível no sítio Web: lugarespolifonicos.com, foi influenciada pelo protocolo de participação de públicos em eventos de tradição oral portuguesa, mais concretamente em dois fenómenos de duelos verbais – o Freestyle rap e a Cantiga ao desafio – com atual expressão em Portugal, sendo a experiência de interatividade um dos aspetos essenciais no funcionamento da obra, enquanto suporte e ferramenta de colaboração entre “produtransmissores online”. A pesquisa assente na metodologia de Investigação-Ação (IA) de abordagem empírica e de natureza qualitativa propôs-se criar um artefacto poético digital de carácter inovador, no domínio da arte contemporânea com recurso às mais recentes tecnologias; Polyphonic places. The interaction of voices in telematic art using a mobile smartphone application. Abstract: In the current context of contemporary telematic art, there is a lack of mobile artistic applications (apps) emphasizing the creative conversation between users spectators and improvising reciters. The theoretical-practical doctoral thesis presents an investigation in the specific field of app art, which seeks to analyze an aesthetic and technological solution for the creation of an interactive telecollaborative experience, through a progressive web mobile application for smartphone entitled Polyphonic Places. The investigation intersects the instantaneous condition of the global dissemination of telecommunication technologies with the homogenization of self-communication mediated by digital mobile devices. The research was anchored in the theoretical contributions of the authors Gene Youngblood, Manuel Castells e Vilém Flusser. The conceptualization of the practice, accessible on the website: lugarespolifonicos.com, was influenced by the protocol of public participation in events of Portuguese oral tradition, more specifically in two phenomena of verbal duels - Freestyle rap and Cantiga ao Desafio - with current expression in Portugal, being the experience of interactivity one of the essential aspects in the operation of the work, as a support and collaboration tool between interactive producers and transmitters. The research is based on the Research-Action (AI) methodology with an empirical and qualitative approach which is proposed to create an innovative digital artifact, using the latest digital technologies.
