Arte, política e migração: algumas manifestações artísticas do século XXI

Abstract

O muro permite uma abordagem relacional entre a migração, a arte e a política. É visto como elemento arquitetónico e artístico, limitador de espaço, construção e separação, mas também como modelador e barreira pois consegue espelhar algumas sociedades e suas referências artísticas e arquitetónicas. Artistas que usaram o muro na sua forma pura, como Andy Goldsworthy, na Land Art, Teresa Margolles, no campo de aproximação à Arte Política, e Gordon Matta-Clark no campo da construção e desconstrução em arquitetura, foram aludidos. Artistas como Ai WeiWei ou Francis Alÿs, ajudaram a clarificar o conceito de Arte Política e artista político. Indagou-se sobre correntes que estão na génese deste pensamento, como o Conceptualismo e o Minimalismo. Passando pela crise migratória e a algumas práticas artísticas do século XXI. Suportado em 3D e 2D, incluindo abstração pelo som, este projeto inicia-se com os Novos Muros da Europa, passa pelos desastres que aconteceram no mar Mediterrâneo e culmina com a reflexão sobre as pessoas que são iguais a nós, que têm vidas como as nossas, ou que já as tiveram; Abstract: Art, politics and migration: Some artistic display of the XXI century The wall allows a relational approach between migration, art and politics. Is viewed as an architectural and artistic element, space container, construction and separation, but also as a modeler and a barrier, once it can mirror some societies and their artistic and architectural references. Artists who used wall’s purest form, like Andy Goldsworthy, in Land Art, Teresa Margolles, approaching Political Art, and Gordon Matta-Clark in architecture, constructing and deconstructing, were mentioned. Artists such as Ai WeiWei or Francis Alys, helped clarify the concept of Political Art and political artist. The influence tide behind the origin of this thought, like Conceptualism and Minimalism, were also inquired. Passing through the migration crisis and some 21st century’s artistic practices. Supported in 3D and 2D, including sound abstraction, this project starts with the new walls of Europe, then the disasters that occurred in the Mediterranean Sea and culminates with a reflection on people who are like us, who have lives like ours, or who used to had them.
