A tradição na arte contemporânea moçambicana: um contributo artístico através de instalações compostas por esculturas

Abstract

Neste trabalho de projeto foi feito um estudo sobre a tradição na arte contemporânea na perspetiva de se compreender a sua contribuição para a divulgação da cultura artística moçambicana mediante análise de 35 obras de 12 artistas plásticos moçambicanos com o propósito de se explicar a influência que a tradição exerce na arte contemporânea moçambicana. No trabalho foram selecionados quatro artistas europeus e americanos, quatro africanos com treze obras por possuírem elementos relevantes e destacáveis na cultura africana contribuindo deste modo para este estudo. A contribuição de todos artistas com as respetivas obras inspirou à autora construir a instalação Conselho de Anciãs representada pela figura 5. Com a descrição da carga simbólica dos elementos tradicionais nas obras dos artistas moçambicanos, foram identificados códigos culturais que permitem identificar a identidade cultural moçambicana. No capítulo de metodologia foi feita a análise de distribuições com a descrição dos vários elementos gerando tabelas descritivas e estatísticas com os comportamentos apresentados nos gráficos recorrendo-se ao uso do pacote estatístico SPSS versão 22.0. Distribuídos os artistas em três grupos considerou se o grupo de artistas moçambicanos para analise e descrição detalhada com a estatística. A análise estatística foi realizada especificamente com artistas moçambicanos, e baseada nas distribuições de artistas por género, obras por grupo de linguagens, quantidade de elementos tradicionais por artista, elementos tradicionais por área, constando em tabelas descritivas e de resultados estatísticos com as simulações gráficas. A implementação da componente prática deste trabalho, resultou na construção de três instalações denominadas de Conselho de Anciãs, dialogo intercultural e Concentração de ideias. O trabalho mostrou que os artistas moçambicanos são influenciados pela tradição nas suas obras, concluindo-se que a tradição está presente na arte contemporânea moçambicana; ABSTRACT: ln this work the study was oriented to tradition in contemporary art in the perspective of understanding its contribution to the dissemination of Mozambican artistic culture by analyzing 35 works by 12 Mozambican plastic artists in order to explain the influence that tradition practice in contemporary Mozambican art. Four European and American artists, four African artists with thirteen works were selected, as these works have relevant and remarkable elements in African culture, contributing to this study. The contribution of all artists and their works inspired the author to construct the installation of the Council of the Aged represented by figure 5. With the description of the symbolic load of the traditional elements in the works of the Mozambican artists, cultural were identified that allow to identify the Mozambican cultural identity. ln the methodology chapter, the analysis of distributions was made with the description of the various elements generating descriptive and statistical tables with the behaviours presented in the graphs using the statistical package SPSS version 22.0. Distributed artists in three groups considered the group of Mozambican artists to analyze and detailed description with the statistics. Statistical analysis was done specifically with Mozambican artists, based on artist distributions by genre, works by language group, number of traditional elements per artist, traditional elements by area, consisting of descriptive tables and statistical results with graphic simulations. The implementation of the practical component of this work resulted in the construction of three installations called the Council of the Aged, lntercultural Dialogue and Concentration of ideas. The work showed that Mozambican artists are influenced by tradition in their works, concluding that tradition is present in contemporary Mozambican art.
