Efeitos do financiamento europeu no emprego, inovação e competitividade na região Alentejo

Abstract

O processo de Integração Europeia tem tido um impacto importante em toda a economia portuguesa, nomeadamente no Alentejo com o financiamento de inúmeros projetos em todos os sectores de atividade, desde a adesão de Portugal à CEE. Efetivamente, o financiamento comunitário tem permitido a evolução da produção, do desenvolvimento tecnológico ou do emprego, entre outros aspetos, porém nem sempre semelhantes nas diferentes regiões da europa, ou mesmo nas diferentes regiões de Portugal. O principal objetivo foi compreender o comportamento do emprego na região Alentejo no período de 2007 a 2013 assim como a evolução do perfil competitivo da região, tendo como base os projetos financiados pelo Quadro de Referência Estratégico Nacional (QREN) definido para esse período. Para tal, foram efetuadas análises estatísticas, pré e pós projetos, onde analisamos uma serie de variáveis que nos ajudaram a compreender a evolução do emprego, da inovação e da competitividade desta região; “EFFECTS OF EUROPEAN FINANCING IN EMPLOYMENT, INNOVATION AND COMPETITIVENESS IN THE ALENTEJO REGION"- ANALYSIS FOR THE PERIOD 2007-2013 Abstract: The European integration process has had a major impact on the whole of the Portuguese economy, particularly in Alentejo, with the financing of numerous projects in all sectors of activity, since Portugal's accession to the EEC. Effectively Community financing has allowed the evolution of production, technological development or employment, among other aspects, but not always similar in different regions of Europe, or even in different regions of Portugal. The main objective was to understand the employment behavior in the Alentejo region from 2007 to 2013, as well as the evolution of the region's competitive profile, based on the projects financed by the National Strategic Reference Framework (QREN) defined for this period. To that end, statistical analyzes were carried out, pre and post projects, where we analyzed a series of variables that helped us to understand the evolution of employment, innovation and competitiveness in this region.
