Abstract

A ideia subjacente à Globalização assenta no pressuposto de que em relação às sociedades que hoje conhecemos, construídas ao longo dos tempos em episódios diversos da ação humana, pré-existe um todo, uno e pretensamente natural, onde não existem fronteiras nem são conhecidos limites. Nesse paradigma, que organizado sob a batuta do capitalismo se pretende restabelecer, qualquer excesso será automaticamente controlado e corrigido por mecanismos mercantis. Todavia, a realidade desmente tal figurino e no momento em que o sistema capitalista atinge uma fase de corrosão terminal, o impacto da Globalização é devastador. A dinâmica destruidora de equilíbrios naturais e sociais, complica a tarefa daqueles que teimam em fazer a sua defesa e convoca o pensamento a imaginar alternativas e a dar passos no sentido da sua concretização. Através do inventário crítico dos discursos políticos de Serge Latouche, Adela Cortina e Carlos Taibo podemos encontrar pistas para os remédios dessa deriva da Globalização. Que através delas e da sua discussão se possam construir opções onde se reconheçam possibilidades de vivência coletiva harmoniosa. Para que um novo projeto emancipatório possa conhecer a luz do dia, apesar da sombra!; Despite the shadow: The drift of Globalization and its remedies Critical inventory of the political speeches of Serge Latouche, Adela Cortina and Carlos Taibo Abstract: The idea unpinning globalisation is based on the assumption that before the emergence of the societies we have today, which were built over the centuries as the result of a series of waves of human action and experience, there pre-existed a supposedly natural state of unity, without frontiers or limits. The aim is to recreate this paradigm on the basis of capitalist principles, any abuse being automatically checked and corrected by market mechanisms. However, the truth is that this is far from being achieved, at a time when the capitalist system is irreparably breaking down, while the globalisation is having a devastating impact. The destructive nature of the dynamics of natural and social equilibria complicates the task of those who stand firm in defence of globalisation and spurs thinkers to imagining alternatives to globalisation and working towards achieving them. The aim of this paper is to critically analyse the political speeches of Serge Latouche, Adela Cortina and Carlos Taibo and provide pointers to ways of dealing with the wayward advance of globalisation. The hope is that the subsequent discussion will lead to the emergence of alternatives enabling the opportunity for a harmonious society. This new liberating idea must surely prevail, despite the shadow!
