Imunorreatividade a alergénios de pólenes de plátano e azinheira numa população de Évora com doença alérgica respiratória sazonal

Abstract

Este trabalho teve como objetivo a caracterização do perfil alergológico de pólenes de plátano (P.hybrida) e de azinheira (Q.rotundifolia). Recolheram-se dados de venda de fármacos anti-alérgicos e dos índices polínicos na região de Évora. Os alergénios destes tipos polínicos foram avaliados por técnicas de imunoblot, utilizando soros humanos, e a atividade alergénica dos extratos foi avaliada em ensaios celulares (RBL-h21). Observou-se uma correlação positiva entre a venda de fármacos anti-alérgicos e os índices polínicos. Foi encontrada imunorreatividade positiva em todos os soros testados, a plátano e azinheira, tendo sido identificadas diversas bandas imunorreativas. Em cerca de metade dos casos a imunorreatividade resultou de reatividade cruzada com gramíneas. Observou-se uma resposta celular diferencial entre indivíduos com reatividade cruzada e indivíduos com reconhecimento primário. Estes resultados sugerem que os pólenes de plátano e azinheira podem ser uma causa de polinose na região do Alentejo durante a Primavera; ABSTRACT: Immunoreactivity to allergens in pollen of maple and oak in a population of Évora with seasonal allergic respirtory disease This work aimed the characterization of the allergenic profile of pollen from plane (P.hybrida) and holm oak (Q.rotundifolia) trees in the region Évora. The information on medication used in the treatment of allergy sales as well as pollen index in Évora were monitored. The allergenic profile of these pollen types were evaluated by immunoblot and cellular (RBL-h21 activation) techniques using sera from allergic patients. A positive correlation of the anti-allergic medication sales and the pollen index was observed. A positive immunoreactivity to Platanus and Quercus was observed in all sera tested and several allergens were identified. Both specific and cross-reactive (D. glomerata) bands were identified in approximately half of the cases. Basophil activation test from specific and cross-reactive pools of sera has shown differential dose-response degranulation. This results suggest that both plate and holm oak pollen might be a cause of allergy in Alentejo during the early spring
