Abstract: | A Síndrome de X Frágil é a segunda causa de défice cognitivo hereditário,
depois da Síndrome de Down (Chávez & Chávez, 2005).
importância do apoio social.
existência da Síndrome de X Frágil numa família; ABSTRACT:The Fragile X Syndrome is characterized by a set of physical, behavioral,
cognitive and social features. In Portugal, the disease is still little known and is often
misdiagnosed. It is estimated that in the general population, the prevalence of full
mutation is 1/2000, the men and women 1/4000. In turn, the prevalence of pre -
mutation is 1/250 in women and 1/750 in men.
The objectives of this study are to know the life story of a child with Fragile X
Syndrome, depression and social support experienced by his mother.
It is the study of a unique case where was possible to identify the most
moments of the life history of the family under study and understand the impact
inherent in the existence of Fragile X Syndrome. |
