The New Oportunities programme (NO) aims the improvement of the portuguese people qualification as a way to promote economical development, justice and social cohesion and citizenship. The Portuguese people commitment is a testimony of the general desire to see individual knowledges recognized and certified based on their life history. Through the competences recognition, validation and certification process (CRVC), men and women become aware of themselves, of the others, of their formative needs, of the desire to improve their knowledges, becaming more responsible and active citizens. The historical women inequality in the western and nacional societies still conditions the way women represent themselves, the roles they assume in both private and public spaces and their commitement in the NO programme and CRVC process. The study, based on the case of two certified women, shows both the importance and the impact of the CRVC process on their lifes, on the roles they assume in personal, social and professional context and in the way they plan their future. |
