Abstract: | A síndrome do X-Frágil (SXF) é a causa mais frequente do défice cognitivo
mães biológicas (n=4) residentes no concelho do Alandroal, as participantes
The Fragile X syndrome (FXS) is the most frequent cause of inherited cognitive
impairment, as well as a common cause of learning problems and behavioral problems.
It is a genetic disease resulting from a mutation of the FMR1 gene, located on the arm
of the X chromosome. This mutation expands the number of repetitions of CGG
trinucleotide, resulting in a shortfall in production of the protein FMRP. Most families
idealizes the baby even before birth, it is common to fantasize about their physical and
cognitive abilities, however, when this child is diagnosed with a disability and may be
soon after birth or after several years, family enters a time of crisis when you need to
make the perfect son and mourning for the son to do "real" reborn, re-conceiving,
adapting the prospects of the real characteristic of your child. With this work we
propose to investigate the future perspectives on cognitive development, school and
social mothers with people with FXS. The sample consisted of biological mothers (n=
4) residents in the municipality of Alandroal, participants answered a semi-structured
interview. The results show that autonomy is the main objective that these mothers hope
that their children can achieve. |
