70 do século XX.
identificação, organização, descrição, digitalização e acondicionamento a baixa
temperatura, com vista a preservação e posterior disponibilização. A presente memória
A investigação, a preservação, a
divulgação do património para a preservação das suas coleções histórico-científicas; - Preservation and Enhancement of the Angiography Collection of the Vascular
Surgery Service of the Faculty of Medicine of University of Lisbon
Abstract:
The current report has as objective to present the results of the curricular internship
held at the National Museum of Natural History and Science of the University of Lisbon
(MUHNAC), around the central theme “Preservation and Enhancement of the
Angiography Collection of the Vascular Surgery Service of the Faculty of Medicine of
University of Lisbon”, during the master’s degree in Management and Enhancement of
Historical and Cultural Heritage. This collection is formed, mostly, by X-ray films on
celulose acetate support, which exhibit Aortographies and Phlebography between the 30s
and 70s of the 20th century. The conservation procedures of the collection under study
consisted of identification, organization, description, digitalization and packaging at low
temperature, with a view to preservation and subsequent availability. The present
scientific memory intends to bring these specimens/objects to the light of History of
Medicine, preparing them to be studied, in which the biggest challenge is the need to
conserve these materials that are very chemically unstable and have poor handling
resistance. The research, preservation, enhancement and accessibility of the collections
of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisboa through MUHNAC allows the
collaboration on the museological formation and in the dissemination of the heritage for
the preservation of its historical-scientific collections. |
