/***Abstract - The axiom system IST is obtained from set theory
ZFC adding predicate set, and three new axioms, the axioms of
transfer, idealization and standardization. A formula without the new
symbol is called internal, and formulae that contain the symbol set are
called external. After the presentation of the axiomatic IST and some
consequentions of these axioms, we describe an algorithm, called
reduction algorithm, that allows us to find an internal formula equivalent
to each external formula. The reduction algorithm yields a syntactical
proof of the relative consistent of IST. We consider another proof of
this consistent, now semantical, through a construction of a model for
his system of axioms we continue with a short history of nonstandard
analysis, followed by a short analysis of the benefits of its utilization,
and, at last, we will develop a possible intuitive interpretation of
fundamental elements of IST. |
