Os territórios da cultura na região euroace: desafios e futuros

Abstract

Resumo O território ibérico que forma o triângulo constituído pela Região Centro, Alentejo e Extremadura, apresenta-se como uma euroregião com toda a tipificação de uma região do interior: baixa densidade populacional e níveis de envelhecimento bastante significativos. Este território apresenta-se, no entanto, com indicadores que revelam uma situação de bem-estar relativo, quanto a equipamentos culturais, boa taxa de escolarização e ligações viárias entre as várias sub-regiões fronteiriças, responsáveis por acessos relativamente rápidos entre elas. Embora se reconheça a existência de formas diferentes de organização territorial entre os dois países, a forma de povoamento é muito semelhante, que se repercutem nos acessos aos equipamentos e às iniciativas culturais desenvolvidas. Por outro lado, as diversas modalidades de expressar a cultura traduzem-se nas três regiões através de centenas de estruturas culturais que movimentam milhares de pessoas, formando um potencial endógeno da euroregião que em muitos dos casos se encontra subaproveitado e desconhecido. A atividade cultural tem vindo a alterar-se significativamente ao longo das últimas décadas. As regiões portuguesas do Centro e Alentejo e a região autónoma espanhola da Extremadura apresentam-se, no ponto vista cultural, com índices de participação extremamente elevados no que concerne ao número de associações culturais e de coletividades de cultura e recreio, responsáveis, na esmagadora maioria dos casos, pela vida cultural das (e nas) localidades onde se inserem, contribuindo não só pela ocupação dos tempos livres e de lazer dos seus habitantes, como pela formação artística de milhares de pessoas que nelas desenvolvem atividades artísticas, que vão da música instrumental e vocal, às atividades teatrais, etc. Abstract The Iberian territory that forms the triangle of Central Region, Alentejo and Extremadura, presents itself as a Euroregion with any characterization of a region of the interior: low population levels and aging quite significant. This territory presents itself, however, with indicators showing a situation of relative wellbeing, as cultural facilities, enrollment and good road connections between the various sub-regions bordering responsible for relatively fast access between them. While recognizing the existence of different forms of territorial organization between the two countries, the form of settlement is very similar, which are reflected in access equipment and cultural initiatives developed. Moreover, the various forms of expressing culture are reflected in the three regions through hundreds of cultural structures that move thousands of people, forming a potential endogenous Euroregion which in many cases is unknown and underused. Cultural activity has changed significantly over the past decades. The Portuguese regions of Alentejo and Centro and autonomous Spanish region of Extremadura present themselves in cultural viewpoint, with extremely high rates of participation in relation to the number of cultural associations and collectives of culture and recreation, accountable, in the overwhelming majority of cases, the cultural life of (and in) localities where they operate, contributing not only for leisure time and leisure of its inhabitants, as the artistic training of thousands of people in them develop artistic activities, ranging from instrumental music and vocal, theatrical activities, etc..
