Abstract: Inserted in the partnership between the University of Évora and Thermo Fisher Scientific: Motivation for dog and cat consultation because of allergy is mainly due to pruritus. Skin is eritematous and may develop several complications, like alopecia and secondary infections. Digestive and cutaneous symptoms of food allergy, flea allergic dermatitis, rhinitis and conjunctivitis, Winter worsening of dermatitis in mould or mite-sensitized individuals and around-Spring allergy to pollens are also well known animal conditions. Dog and cat allergic dermatitis may result from: 1) Atopic dermatitis; 2) Food allergy; 3) Flea allergic dermatitis; 4) Malassezia pachidermatis dermatitis; 5) Contact dermatitis. Human and dog atopic dermatitis may even show several similarities.
