Foram discutidas limitações, implicações práticas e sugestões para estudos futuros; Differentiation of self and romantic relationship satisfaction:
The mediating effect of Aggression Management
Abstract:
Differentiation of Self plays an important role, both in the psychological processes which contribute to romantic relationship satisfaction, and the way individuals regulate and express their emotions. We also know that the way in which aggressiveness is expressed between romantic partners has repercussions in terms of their Satisfaction in their romantic relationship. This investigation aimed to test the mediating effect of aggressiveness management in the relationship between the differentiation of self and romantic relationship satisfaction, in a sample of 322 adults. Four mediation models were tested, and it was found that Internal Anger Control partially mediates the relationship between Differentiation of Self and romantic relationship satisfaction, and External Anger Control is a total mediator of the relationship between Position of Self and romantic relationship satisfaction. These results suggest that more than the presence of the emotion of anger, it is the form and frequency in which it is expressed, that influences satisfaction in romantic relationships. Limitations, practical implications, and suggestions for future studies were discussed. |
