Abstract: The article offers a reflection on the dramaturgy applied to puppet theater. Understood as a field traditionally linked to the production of the actors’ theater text, in its canonical formulation, faced with the specificity of the problematic of the text for the puppet, the dramaturgy reveals the possibilities of extending the understanding of the term and its application which we will try to explore here. For this analysis, we will use three case studies selected from the repertoire of texts from the ancient puppet theater in Portugal.
