Abstract:	É apresentada uma breve contextualização da origem do hino "Abide with me" de Henry Francis Lyte e a a posterior associação à melodia "Eventide" de William Henry Monk. De seguida são descritas as circunstâncias que levaram à utilização desta melodia por Kerry Turner para escrever a obra Abide with me para trompa e piano. Finalmente são descritos os elementos idiomáticos presentes nesta obra.
