Para uma tipologia das gentes bizarras em Juan José Millás: um estudo de faunas e criaturas literárias

Abstract

Neste trabalho percorreremos a obra literária de Juan José Millás (Valencia, 1946), desde 1975 até 2018. O nosso périplo pelo conjunto da obra narrativa do autor (19 romances e 8 coletâneas de contos) terá como foco de interesse o estudo da personagem que se afasta de uma determinada tipologia do que se entende ser a personagem humana, aquela que é possuidora de um corpo e de um rosto que são a primeira marca da sua identidade. Partindo da personagem humana que se vai corporeamente diminuindo, por via da amputação, da assimetria, da deficiência ou da própria morte, abrimos caminho para um género de personagem despojada de corpo, que se petrifica ou se faz oca. À medida que o vazio acontece, o corpo da escrita, uma prótese como as outras, ganha volume, e um novo repovoamento tem lugar, com o aparecimento de personagens cada vez mais distantes da tradicional humana, mas não por isso desumanizadas. É então que o objeto inerte se faz gente, que o animal se recobra de múltiplos significados, que o robot se amantiza com o humano, que a miniatura o desafia. Acompanharemos, deste modo, o Millás sombrio e hermético dos primeiros anos, assistiremos à sua metamorfose no trânsito de uma escrita mais realista para outra assumidamente fantástica, permaneceremos com ele no seu colorido que trouxe, nos últimos vinte anos, uma certa forma carnavalizada e nova de ver o mundo. Mas o assunto da escrita de Millás permanece sério: o da busca da identidade, ou talvez do mistério. E o mistério é veiculado por todas as criaturas bizarras que vivem na sua obra, os outros, de que fará parte também um eu à beira de um precipício, ou de uma mãe cósmica eternamente por desvendar; Abstract: For a typology of bizarre people in Juan José Millás – A study of the fauna and literary creatures In this work we will travel through the literary work of Juan José Millás (Valencia,1946), from 1971 to 2018. Our journey through the narrative work of the author (19 novels and 8 compilations of short stories) will focus on the study of the character that doesn’t obey to a certain typology, the one we believe to be a human character, gifted of a body and a face which are the first signs of an identity. Going from the human character that loses body, through amputation, asymmetry, deficiency or own death, we open a path to a new kind of character with no body, that petrifies itself or becomes hollow. As the emptiness happens, the body of the writing, a prosthesis like others, gains volume and a new repopulation takes place, with the apparition of characters more and more distant from the traditional human figure, but not totally inhuman. Then, the inert object will become people, the animal gets multiple meanings, the robot will have feelings for the human, the miniature defies it. So, we will accompany the dark and tense Millás of the early years, we will experience his metarmorphosis from a realistic writing to a clearly fantastic one, we will stay with him in this brightnes brought to us from the last twenty years, through a new and carnavalesque way to see the world. But the subject of Millas’ writing remains serious: the search for identity or perhaps mistery. And the mistery is aired by all the bizarre creatures that live through his work, the others, and an I at the edge of a precipice or a cosmic mother that is forever uncovered.
