A tradução jurídica : da teoria à prática

Abstract

O presente relatório tem como objectivo relatar os meus primeiros passos no mundo da tradução. Mais precisamente, descreve as actividades realizadas durante o estágio na empresa de tradução AP - Serviços Linguísticos. Partindo da necessidade de enquadramento do mesmo no Mestrado em Línguas Aplicadas e Tradução, nele faz-se um percurso histórico e teórico sobre alguns aspectos da tradução, fazendo-se uma reflexão sobre a tradução como processo de negociação, quais as estratégias de tradução e ferramentas que o tradutor tem ao seu dispor. Para se compreender a tradução, é importante compreender também o tradutor, as suas competências e a ética pela qual o seu trabalho se rege. Debate-se também se o tradutor deve ou não ter formação académica. Tal enquadramento permite, ao apresentar os trabalhos efectuados, enumerar as principais dificuldades encontradas e como se ultrapassaram. As dificuldades prenderam-se, sobretudo, com a terminologia específica e com erros, principalmente ortográficos. O relatório é concluído com uma apreciação do estágio. - ABSTRACT: This report aims to account for my first steps in the world of translation. More accurately, it describes the activities carried out during an internship in the translation company AP - Serviços Linguísticos. Based on the need to framework the internship in the Masters in Applied Languages and Translation, the report follows a historical and theoretical path about some aspects of translation as a negotiation process, and which strategies of translation and tools the translator has at his disposal. To understand translation, it is also important to understand the translator, his skills and the ethics which must govern his work. It is also discussed if the translator should have academic training. Such framework allows, in the presentation of the work carried out, listing the main difficulties encountered and overcome. Difficulties mostly connected with specific terminology and spelling. The report is concluded with an assessment of the internship.
