Três tartufos em português: a recepção de Molière em Portugal no final do século XX

Abstract

A presente dissertação apresenta uma investigação desenvolvida no domínio dos Estudos de Tradução e tem por objecto de estudo três traduções portuguesas da peça Tartufo feitas no âmbito de projectos de encenação, no final do século XX, a saber as traduções de Carlos Wallenstein (que teve como texto intermediário a tradução espanhola de Enrique Llovet), Manuel João Gomes e Regina Guimarães. Pretende, pela descrição dos textos (que terá por base metodológica o modelo proposto por Lambert & van Gorp, 1985), conhecer a recepção da peça e a uma maior escala de Molière, entre nós, no dito período, pela via da tradução. O estudo permitirá reflectir sobre várias questões relacionadas com o fenómeno tradutológico, com especial destaque para a tradução teatral, nomeadamente a problemática da (re)leitura dos clássicos no período em análise e o papel da tradução nessa (re)leitura, e contribuir para aprofundar o conhecimento do (complexo) fenómeno da tradução. /*** Summary - The following dissertation is an investigation developped in the domain of the Translation Studies. It has as a matter of study three Portuguese translations on the play Tartufo made in the ambit of staging projects, at the and of the 20th century — the translations by Carlos Wallenstein (who had as intermediate text the spanish translation by Enrique Llovet), Manuel João Gomes and Regina Guimarães. Through the description of the texts (which have as a method the modal proposed by Lambert & van Gorp, 1985), one pretends to know the reception of the play, and at larger scale, of Molière among us, in that period. The study will reveal several issues on the translation phenomenon, giving special highlight to the theatrical translation, namely the problematic of the (re)reading of the classics in the given period and the role of the translation in it, and will also contribute to deepen the knowledge of the (complex) translation phenomenon.
