Relações interpessoais na internet: um estudo com alunos do 3º ciclo do ensino básico no Alentejo

Abstract

Esta dissertação aborda o impacto que a utilização da Internet tem nos relacionamentos dos jovens. O estudo empírico, desenvolvido junto de alunos do 3º ciclo do ensino básico de uma escola do Alto Alentejo, procura identificar alterações nas novas formas comunicacionais e de partilha dos alunos na Internet, assim como averiguar possíveis implicações de comportamentos e rotinas nas suas relações interpessoais. O suporte teórico deste trabalho aborda a evolução da Internet em Portugal, desde a sua origem até às suas mais recentes aplicações e utilizações em contextos sociais e educativos. Faz-se ainda referência à importância das relações interpessoais para os jovens e alude-se ao papel da família e às suas relações num contexto de comunicação digital, com a preocupação de encontrar bases sólidas, tanto a nível teórico como metodológico, para uma melhor compreensão da problemática em estudo nesta investigação. O processo de investigação recaiu numa metodologia de inquérito, assente na aplicação de questionários aos alunos e encarregados de educação participantes no estudo e num plano de tratamento estatístico e análise descritiva dos dados obtidos. Os resultados obtidos nesta investigação mostram que as novas alternativas de comunicação disponibilizadas pela Internet estão a transformar as práticas comunicacionais entre os jovens, especialmente alterações de rotinas e de comportamentos nas relações interpessoais. Este trabalho evidencia que os alunos reconhecem a existência de mudanças tanto em contexto social como familiar e que os encarregados de educação são mais relutantes a admitir alterações de rotinas e de comportamentos dos seus educandos; ABSTRACT:This thesis focuses on the impact that the use of the Internet has in today´s relationships between young people. This empirical study has as target group, pupils of the 3rd cycle of basic education at a school in Alto Alentejo. The goal of this research is to identify the changes in communication as well as to analyze what the pupils are sharing on the Internet. This project also aims to investigate the implications on behaviors and routines of the pupils’ interpersonal relationships. The theoretical basis of this paper approaches the evolution of the Internet in Portugal, since its origin until its most recent applications in social and educational contexts. The importance of interpersonal relationships for the youth will also be the subject of study and it also alludes to the role of the family and their relationships in the context of digital communication. This research study also as the purpose of finding solid foundations both theoretical and methodological for a better understanding of this subject. The study process was made through a survey methodology, based on questionnaires filled in by the pupils and the parents participating in the study and the statistical and descriptive analysis of the data obtained. The results obtained through this investigation show that the new ways of communication provided by the Internet are transforming communication practices among young people, especially changes in routines and behaviors regarding interpersonal relationships. This research shows that pupils recognize that there are changes both in family and social context and that the parents are more reluctant to accept the changes in the routines and behaviors of their children.
