2010, realizadas no âmbito do projecto INSHORE.
a wave study was performed using the observations obtained by the Sines wave buoy
and from the simulations of the numerical model SWAN, using ALADIN and Meso-NH
models to describe the wind characteristics. The subaerial beach morphology was
evaluated considering the data obtained from three campaigns of INSHORE project, May
and November of 2009 and May of 2010. The final results points that the nearshore wave
conditions are severely influenced by the physiographic units of this region (Cape
Espichel, Cambalhão bank, Setúbal submarine canyon and Sines Cape). The analysis of
the wave conditions that precede each field campaign, allowed the evaluation of the main
morphological changes in the sub-aerial beach, reflected in the variation of the beach
width and in the berm elevation. |
