Teoria versus prática: análise de dificuldades nas traduções técnicas espanhol-português

Abstract

O presente relatório de estágio enquadra-se no âmbito do Trabalho Final de Mestrado em Línguas Aplicadas e Tradução. Como tal, foi realizado um estágio profissionalizante na empresa AP/Portugal com os objetivos de descrever e refletir sobre dificuldades encontrados na tradução, definir a relação entre a perspetiva da atividade do tradutor, transmitida durante o curso, e a prática da atividade quotidiana no seio de uma empresa de tradução. O relatório encontra-se dividido em duas partes: na primeira far-se-á uma breve reflexão sobre o papel desempenhado pelo tradutor na sociedade contemporânea, realidade prática da sua atividade, dificuldades e problemas ligados à tradução. A fim de consolidar e justificar as decisões tomadas, realizou-se uma revisão bibliográfica. A abordagem efetuada na segunda parte do relatório deter-se-á na descrição da parte prática, ou seja, na análise de traduções efetuadas, nos desafios suscitados pelos diferentes trabalhos realizados, nomeadamente através do Cat Tools. Dar-se-á um especial relevo às aprendizagens resultantes da realização das diversas tarefas e etapas da vida de um projeto de tradução; ### Abstract: Theory vs. practice: analysis of difficulties in Spanish-Portuguese technical translations This traineeship report was executed as the final paper of the Master’s course in Applied Languages and Translation based on an internship at AP/Portugal aiming at describing and analysing the difficulties found in translation, as well as defining the relationship between the translator’s activity examined during the course and the daily practice of this activity in a translation company. This report is divided in two parts. The first briefly considers the role of the translator in contemporary society, the practical issues of the activity and its difficulties and problems. A literature review is provided in order to strengthen and justify the choices made. The second part aims at describing the practical section. More specifically, it analyzes several translations and the problems which came up, namely in the use of CAT tools. Special relevance will be given to the learning outcomes of the many translation tasks and stages of a translation project.
