A sobrecarga do familiar cuidador da pessoa idosa com demência: intervenções do Enfermeiro Especialista em Enfermagem de Saúde Familiar

Abstract

Este relatório, desenvolvido no âmbito do Mestrado em Enfermagem Comunitária, na área de Especialização em Enfermagem de Saúde Familiar, apresenta uma análise reflexiva da prática clínica realizada numa Unidade de Saúde Familiar. Teve como objetivo aplicar o Modelo Calgary de Avaliação e Intervenção Familiar, com foco na sobrecarga do cuidador da pessoa idosa com demência. Durante o estágio, foram acompanhadas duas famílias, permitindo identificar necessidades como sobrecarga do cuidador, dependência funcional do idoso e necessidade de suporte emocional e social. Com base na avaliação, foram implementadas intervenções dirigidas à capacitação do cuidador, reforço da rede de apoio e promoção de estratégias de coping. Os resultados evidenciam a importância de intervenções estruturadas na redução da sobrecarga e na melhoria do bem-estar familiar; - Caregiver Burden in Family Caregivers of Elderly People with Dementia: Interventions by the Family Health Nursing Specialist ABSTRACT: This report, developed within the scope of the Master’s Degree in Community Nursing, with a specialization in Family Health Nursing, presents a reflective analysis of clinical practice carried out in a Family Health Unit. The main objective was to apply the Calgary Family Assessment and Intervention Model, focusing on caregiver burden in families of older adults with dementia. During the internship, two families were followed, allowing the identification of needs such as caregiver burden, functional dependence of the older adult, and the need for emotional and social support. Based on the assessment, interventions were implemented aimed at caregiver empowerment, strengthening support networks, and promoting coping strategies. The results highlight the importance of structured interventions in reducing caregiver burden and improving family well-being. It is concluded that family health nursing plays a key role in empowering caregivers and promoting family-centered care.
