O Projeto Educativo do Corpo Nacional de Escutas: dispositivo singular de educação não formal e de socialização juvenil

Abstract

A presente investigação tem como finalidade estudar a especificidade do Projeto Educativo (PE) do Corpo Nacional de Escutas (CNE), enquanto dispositivo de educação não formal e de socialização juvenil. Pretende-se interpretar sociologicamente o seu surgimento bem como as transformações nele operadas ao longo do tempo, dando conta das conceções de infância e de juventude que o mesmo foi desenvolvendo. Procura-se também compreender como a operacionalização do projeto educativo, através de ações e atividades no terreno, forjam modos do movimento escutista encarar a autonomia, as sociabilidades e a socialização infantil e juvenil. A investigação baseia-se na conjugação de várias técnicas de pesquisa qualitativa: análise documental e entrevistas a dirigentes do Corpo Nacional de Escutas. Os resultados da pesquisa evidenciam as fronteiras porosas entre educação formal, não formal e informal, as diversas facetas da construção da “identidade escutista” e os problemas que os dirigentes enfrentam na operacionalização do projeto escutista, quer do ponto de vista organizacional, quer do ponto de vista das mudanças sociais mais vastas, que trazem para o interior do movimento novos desafios sobre o que significa hoje educar e ser criança, jovem e escuta; - Abstract: The Educational Project of the Corpo Nacional de Escutas: A Singular Mechanism of Non-Formal Education and Youth Socialization. This research aims to study the specific nature of the Educational Project (EP) of the Corpo Nacional de Escutas (CNE – Portuguese Catholic Scouting) as a mechanism of non-formal education and youth socialization. It seeks to provide a sociological interpretation of its emergence as well as the transformations it has undergone over time, highlighting the concepts of childhood and youth that it has progressively developed. The study also aims to understand how the implementation of the educational project, through field actions and activities, shapes the ways in which the scouting movement approaches autonomy, social interactions, and the socialization of children and young people. The research is based on a combination of several qualitative research techniques: documentary analysis and interviews with leaders of the CNE. The findings reveal the porous boundaries between formal, non-formal, and informal education, the multiple facets involved in constructing the “scout identity” and the challenges that leaders face in implementing the scouting project, both from an organizational standpoint and in light of broader social changes that bring new challenges to the movement regarding what it means today to educate and to be a child, a young person, and a scout.
