Megalitismo nas bacias do Ardila e Múrtega- Barrancos Estudo de caso

Abstract

O presente estudo constitui uma análise do “fenómeno megalítico” no contexto do Baixo Alentejo, particularmente da margem esquerda do Guadiana, nos atuais limites administrativos. Tem como objeto de estudo o megalitismo funerário nas bacias do Ardila e Múrtega, no concelho de Barrancos. Neste estudo, reconhece-se um conjunto de dez monumentos megalíticos no concelho, maioritariamente, concentrados na área da mesopotâmia destes rios. Na generalidade, o trabalho visa o estudo dos monumentos megalíticos/sepulturas megalíticas, principalmente em duas variantes: morfologia/arquitetura e implantação/posicionamento. Pretende-se identificar estratégias de implantação e reconhecer possíveis padrões que evidenciem a intencionalidade da escolha de posicionamento, através da análise do existente e por estudos de caso relacionáveis por proximidade geográfica ou arquitetónica, de forma a entender a sua distribuição na paisagem e no território. O propósito é o de contribuir para o conhecimento das antigas comunidades camponesas do 4º e 3º milénio nesta região integrante no sudoeste peninsular; Megalithism in the Ardila and Múrtega basins – Barrancos – Case study - ABSTRACT: This study is an analysis of the megalithic phenomenon in the context of Baixo Alentejo, particularly the Left Bank of the Guadiana, within the current administrative boundaries. Its object of study is the funerary megalithism in the Ardila and Múrtega basins, in the municipality of Barrancos. In this study, a set of ten megalithic monuments in the municipality are recognized, mostly concentrated in the area of mesopotamian between rivers. In general, the work aims to study megalithic monuments/megalithic tombs, mainly in two variants: morphology/architecture and implantation/positioning. The aim is to identify implantation strategies and recognize possible regularities that demonstrate the intentional choice of positioning, through the analysis of the existing and through case studies related by geographical or architectural proximity, in order to understand their distribution in the landscape and territory. The purpose is to contribute to the knowledge of the ancient peasant communities of the 4th and 3rd millennia in this region that is part of the Southwest of the Iberian Peninsula.
