Authors: Correia, Joaquim M.C.
Abstract: E-SEASON is the acronym for Europe-South East Asia Science Oriented Network&#xD;
which is an informal network enrolling a number of European and Asian&#xD;
universities and having as kernel of all of its activities: mathematics. We want to present the E-SEASON, the academic cooperation developed inside as well as the ongoing projects. In particular we will pay attention to its research goals.</summary>

Authors: Oliveira, Manuela; Mexia, João T.; Garção, Eugénio; Grilo, Luís M.
Abstract: Epidemiology focuses on the identification of patterns in disease occurrence in order to provide information that may be useful to help prevent it. The research of how a disease may be transmitted is influential for that identification. In the case of COVID-19 this research should focus on the relations between the disease and the populations of susceptible individuals that might be infected. In this context, we propose an approach based on a stratified sampling scheme to estimate the percentages of asymptomatic and immune persons per region in Portugal.</summary>
