It, which has long been one of the most important centers of Iranian handicraft production, had become the main center of the industry after the arrival of new industries in Iran and had become known as the Manchester of Iran. The industrialization of Iran, brought several fundamental changes in the Iranian cities of which most important, was the formation of a special class of workers who formed unions, they demonstrated and protested to obtain their rights. Despite the importance of the city of Isfahan in the social, architectural and industrial history of Iran, most of the material remains from that time are today demolished and the memory is vanishing. It is important to revive and safeguard this memory and give back the industrial heritage of the city to its inhabitants.
