O turismo inteligente: a cultura e a natureza - O Parque Natural do Vale do Guadiana

Abstract

Na actualidade, o respeito pelo ambiente e a conservação dos recursos naturais podem ser considerados enquanto uma necessidade de ordem política, social, económica e cultural sem a qual as regiões não se desenvolvem de forma sustentável. Por outro lado, o turismo assume um papel de relevo na economia se bem que não se deva desenvolver de forma indiscriminada, ou seja, à custa da utilização excessiva dos recursos patrimoniais existentes - sejam edificados, não edificados ou naturais. Tendo por base esta perspetiva de integração, o turismo em áreas protegidas deverá ter em conta não só as sensibilidades inerentes à existência da fauna e flora, mas também a sua conjugação com o elemento humano. Neste enquadramento procurou-se, com a realização do presente trabalho, identificar nomeadamente os constrangimentos existentes ao nível do desenvolvimento da actividade turística no Parque Natural do Vale do Guadiana, tendo por base a opinião dos residentes e das entidades regionais com mais relevância nessa matéria. Procurou-se, seguidamente, elaborar algumas propostas relativas às actividades a implementar, bem como outras de carácter estrutural - com base na informação que se recolheu através da aplicação de variadas técnicas de pesquisa secundária e primária e ilustrativa da oferta actualmente existente no território em análise; ABSTRACT: Nowadays, the respect for the environment and for the preservation of natural resources can be envisaged as a political, social, economic and cultural need, without which regions do not develop sustainably. Although tourism plays a relevant role in the economy, it should not be developed indiscriminately, i.e., at the expense of the built, non-built or natural heritage resources. Starting from this integration perspective, tourism in protected areas shall take into account not only the sensitivities inherent to the existence of flora and fauna, but also their connection with the human element. ln this framework, the present work sought to identify namely the constraints that exist in the development of the tourist activity in the Vale do Guadiana Natural Park, by taking into consideration the opinions of both the residents and the regional institutions more relevantly connected to this subject matter. The work then sought to reach a set of proposals regarding the activities to be implemented, as well as others of structural nature. These followed from the information gathered and from the application of several Secondary and primary research techniques, which illustrate the existing offer in the territory under analysis.
