Abstract: the walls are well consolidated, and the paths and main roads are well defined. With the evolution of time, the city was changing to the needs of the inhabitants, being this in a natural way, giving time for the changes to take place. The city was occupying the places inside the medieval walls, because this was the place more protected against exterior attacks. Despite this construction logic, there were some buildings outside the walls, small constructions that marked the beginning of the urban area. As an example of this type of constructions, we have the Chafariz das Bravas, that welcomed the visitors that come on the road from/to Lisbon. This building is the answer to a very practical question, the necessity of water, needed to the animals as to the people. This building is represented at the regia letter from 1483. This place has been adapting to the needs of the city, changing various aspects, as number of tanks, disposition, etc. It is written in documents, that in this place there was the animal market, as a way to have this kind of business away from the noble city center. As the time goes by, this building has been absorbed by the urban landscape, is no longer a mark of the urban area but another monument, without the same meaning. At the beginning the entrance to the city was made by the ‘’Portas de Alconchel’’, with the pass of time, new needs appeared, and technological developments. In this way, appeared the new ‘’Avenida Tulio Espanca’’ with lots of changes in the topography of the city, cuting the connection between this landmarks. So appears the new bus terminal, gas station that changed even more the topography. The expansion of the urban landscape outwards the city center didn’t have the same logic, so in each neighborhood, as the new road along the city walls even separated more the city center, in a connection that should be normal and natural. So appears as a new exercise at ‘’Projecto Avançado 3’’, that consists in search of the answer to the normal connection between this two points. It is decided to make the connection between Malagueira and city center. At this path, there is the need to create new events, buildings of cultural aspect that make this path more pleasant. Of the three areas shown, ( close to Portas do Raimundo, bus terminal and Chafariz das bravas) the chosen one was Chafariz das Bravas. This was the chosen place because there is an important piece of history, forgotten and absorbed by the urban landscape, losing the aspect of landmark. The suggestion here presented, appears as a talk between the historical building and the new one. The objective is to regain Chafariz das Bravas as a landmark, being the building around the old one, drawing a new horizon. The solution found, was to assume the new building as a scene background, reenact the horizon. As it was originally build, chafariz das bravas was a isolated building in the landscape, with just land and trees, close to the main road to Lisbon, it appears as a resting place. As it has been said, the objective of drawing a new horizon, and the new structure creating new life to this place, being again a new landmark to the city. This kind of topic are used in theatre, so it was completely logical to study the evolution of theatre, gaining new knowledge about scenography and architecture. Has been made a historical study about the evolution of theatre and scenography, and the different scenic languages. This study has the objective of clarifying this kind of theory, and to find wich could be the most correct one, and also making a reflexion about this different kinds of construction. How can we find a solution to pass the temporary aspect of scenography to the permanent aspect of architecture without losing the meaning. As object of study there are two suggestions. It is made a reflection about the peripheral and the city center, making this connections more natural, with a walking path between the two points, being this one at the scale of the city. Also there is the relation between the old and the new, the kind of language adopted between both buildings, creating a conceptual relation between architecture and theatre, being this at the neighborhood scale. How to make the path between the city center and Bairro da Malagueira? Why choose the terrain close to Chafariz das Bravas? Wich are the problems found at the path? How can we requalify a space that as been forgotten? A monument can gain new impact as landmark? Can we reenact the moment making it more obvious? Can scenography be used as architecture experiments?
