Relações entre a delinquência juvenil e a vinculação

Abstract

A adolescência é uma fase de mudanças, crises e conflitos, propicia à ocorrência de comportamentos delinquentes. A prática destes comportamentos tem vindo a ser associada à qualidade da vinculação estabelecida entre os pais e a criança/adolescente. Assim, a vinculação descreve as relações significativas que nos unem aos outros e a delinquência juvenil caracteriza-se pelo número de transgressões cometidas por jovens. O objetivo geral do presente trabalho foi aprofundar o conhecimento das relações entre a vinculação e os comportamentos delinquentes dos jovens institucionalizados. Participaram 41 adolescentes institucionalizados em Centros Educativos, pertencentes ao Instituto de Reinserção Social, da área de Lisboa. Utilizaram-se dois questionários de recolha de dados – Questionário de Caracterização e Escala dos Comportamentos e o Inventário sobre a Vinculação na Infância e na Adolescência. Os resultados deste estudo corroboram estudos anteriores no sentido em que mostram relações entre comportamentos delinquentes e comportamentos de risco por parte dos pais, ou ainda, entre vinculação e perceção do número de amigos na escola. No entanto, os resultados obtidos são contraditórios, em certa medida, com a literatura ao evidenciarem uma relação entre vinculação segura e delinquência. Mostram, ainda, que a vinculação evitante parece indicar um menor envolvimento em comportamentos delinquentes, em especial relacionados com a propriedade; ### Abstract: Adolescence is a time of changes, crisis, and conflicts, that is favorable to the delinquent behavior. The practice of these behaviors has been associated with the quality of attachment established between the parents and the child / adolescent. Thus, the attachment describes the significant relationships that bind us to others and juvenile delinquency is characterized by the number of offenses committed by young people. The overall goal of this current study was to increase the knowledge of the relationship between attachment and delinquent behavior in institutionalized teenagers. In this study participated 41 institutionalized teenagers in educational centers of the Lisbon Social Reintegration Institute. Two questionnaires were used to collect data – a Characterization Questionnaire and Behaviors Scale and Attachment for Children and Adolescents Inventory. The results of this study corroborate previous studies in the sense that shows the relationships between delinquent behavior and risk behaviors by parents, and shows too the relationship between attachment and number of friends’ perception at school. However, the results are inconsistent with current literature in the sense that shows a relation between secure attachment and delinquency. They show as well that avoidant attachment seems to show a lesser involvement to delinquent behavior, particularly behaviors related to property.
