Title: PREVENTION OF OVERWEIGHT AND OBESITY IN CHILDREN OF SCHOOL AGE
Authors: Nunes, Nuno; Tores, Jorge; Coelho, Anabela; Costa, Andreia
Abstract: Rationale: This project focuses on health promotion, in line with international goals to control the prevalence of childhood
overweight and obesity in the child and school population.
Thus, the following objective was defined for this project: Improve children's knowledge about healthy eating
Methods: Given this, and since schools are a privileged place for the promotion of
health (and consequent training of the child population and their parents), the target population of this project will be
children aged between 6 and 8 years.
The project is divided into 5 stages. In first, partnerships are established
and information about the project is detailed through meetings with partners
In the second stage, health education sessions will be held on the following topics: food wheel; fundamental foods and
principles of the Mediterranean diet and foods rich in sugars and processed fats. The third stage focuses on creating
healthy lunch boxes and dishes, using fictitious foods. In addition, students will analyse and interpret the labels through
the “nutri-score” system, bringing labels they have at home to the sessions. The fourth stage of the project consists of
collecting data on the foods that students bring in their lunch boxes. Thus, once a week, during the snack period, the
teachers fill in a table showing the foods that students bring in their lunch box, allowing an intervention aimed at the foods
that students bring. The last step is the global evaluation of the project.
Results: The expected results are the indicators of intervention: percentage of students who correctly analyse and
interpret labels, proportion of students who select foods in a healthy way when preparing healthy lunch boxes and dishes.
Conclusion: The project focuses on a priority on a global scale, it intends to be the path of empowerment of the most
vulnerable groups, considering children as one of these vulnerable groups, being very conditioned by the social
determinants that surround them.2022-08-31T23:00:00ZINTEGRATED MALNUTRICION MANAGEMENT: A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF TREATMENT COSTS FOR ENTERAL NUTRITION HOME-BASED CARE VERSUS HOSPITAL-BASED CARE

Title: INTEGRATED MALNUTRICION MANAGEMENT: A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF TREATMENT COSTS FOR ENTERAL NUTRITION HOME-BASED CARE VERSUS HOSPITAL-BASED CARE
Authors: Coelho, Anabela; Nunes, Nuno; Costa, Andreia
Abstract: Rationale: Home enteral nutrition (HEN) has always been recognized as a life-saving procedure however with budget
constraints, its cost-effectiveness has been questioned recently. From the patient's perspective, the increased life
expectancy, the right to receive of choice where to receive treatment, and the increased interest in quality of life have
influenced the development of home care services. The increasing demands on nutritional programs have encouraged
the shift from expensive hospital services to home care and this study will prove the cost savings of doing it at home.
Methods: The observational study of HEN patients was performed between January 2020 and January 2022. A two-year
period cost analysis was taken in place in order to reveal savings with HEN and reduction of adverse outcomes.
The in-hospital cost was derived from the average cost of hospitalization median days and the HEN cost was derived
from the average cost of nutrients and disposable equipment.
Results: Implementation of HEN reduces the incidence of infectious complications, the number of hospital admissions,
and the length of hospital stay. With this study, we will try to demonstrate how it will be converted into cost savings.
Conclusion: During the past two decades, home enteral nutrition (HEN) services have been established both in Portugal
and Europe. The presente study will show that HEN improves clinical outcomes and decreases health care costs.2022-08-31T23:00:00ZRepresentações sociais de enfermeiro supervisor elaboradas por estudantes de enfermagem

Title: Representações sociais de enfermeiro supervisor elaboradas por estudantes de enfermagem
Authors: Fonseca, Ana; Frade, Maria; Marques, Maria Céu; Bule, Maria José; Lopes, Manuel
Abstract: Resumo: Supervision and learning must be guided and accompanied by expert nurses in the clinical area. The nurse supervisor is required, in addition to clinical skills, ability to discuss, to question and to reflect with the student (Ketola, 2009). Objectives: Identify the social representations (SR) of the clinical nurse supervisor characteristics, built by students. Analyze the relationship between the components of SR nursing clinical supervisor in prospective students. Methodology: Exploratory study, the sample consisted of 74 students of 4th year, 1st cycle of Nursing. Data collection was conducted through a questionnaire. We met the ethical and legal procedures. The data were categorized using the Microsoft Office Word and processed in software Evoc and SIMI. Results: There was a predominance of female respondents, with a mean age of 24.6 years. Of the 359 words evoked, 47 is ascertained different. The SR nursing clinical supervisor have the following structure: the more consensual elements - core - were accessible, competence, knowledge, available, empathy, experience, honesty and impartiality. The elements less consensus second-periphery - were: friend, collaborator, friendly, direct and commitment. The similarity analysis to prove the centrality of the elements available, knowledge and empathy and showed that there is a strong relationship between the elements available, friendly and a moderate relationship between the majority of the remaining elements with centrality. Conclusion: The nursing supervisor RS, developed by students, are structured skills of professional experience, supported by knowledge, and skills related to the personal nature of the nurse. Thus, the nurse supervisor, in the minds of students, must have experience and knowledge should be accessible, comprehensive, available, empathetic, honest and impartial. Clinical experiences are conditioned by the relationship between supervisor and student nurses (Cunha et al, 2010; Pearson, 2009).2012-09-30T23:00:00ZPrograma Educacional ao cuidador do doente oncológico com dor no domícilio - Revisão sistemática da Literatura

Title: Programa Educacional ao cuidador do doente oncológico com dor no domícilio - Revisão sistemática da Literatura
Authors: Bico, Isabel; Frade, Maria
