Abstract: This study investigates the impact of geopolitical risk (GPR) on sustainable investments, focusing on five global environmental indices and two global GPR indices. Using Corrected Dynamic Conditional Correlation Generalised Autoregressive Conditional Heteroskedasticity (cDCC-GARCH) model and Diebold and Yilmaz’s spillover analysis, we use daily data from January 2009 to October 2022, covering various market phases, including the European sovereign debt crisis, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the war in Ukraine. Results from the cDCC-GARCH model reveal high dynamic conditional correlations. During periods of high volatility, environmental indices displayed simultaneous and more intense responses, limiting investment diversification alternatives when considering only the environmental side. Diebold and Yilmaz’s static analysis demonstrates that environmental segments are more influenced by systemic shocks than specific causes, with GPR’s influence proving relatively weak. In the dynamic analysis, the spillover effects of GPR in environmental segments intensified during the pandemic crisis and the invasion of Ukraine, affecting market conditions.2024-03-05T00:00:00ZSTYLE OF USE OF QUALITY COST INFORMATION AND ITS EFFECTS ON QUALITY-RELATED LEARNING AND PERFORMANCE. Abstract: Past research has analysed gender differences in different areas of organizational context, although some areas remain in which research has been less incisive. The analysis of potential gender differences in terms of information use is one of the areas that has received the least attention from researchers. Recognizing and exploiting this research gap, we followed the Levers of Control framework (Simons, 1995) to distinguish between diagnostic and interactive use of quality cost information (QCI), to evaluate to what extent there are gender differences in the use of that information and how they influence quality-related learning (QRL) and organizational performance. To that end, we have performed a set of statistical tests, including a multi-group analysis (female managers vs. male managers), which revealed that the diagnostic use of QCI by female managers had a negative impact on QRL, whereas this effect was positive (although not statistically significant) in the male managers’ group. In both groups the impact of QRL on performance is positive and statistically significant. However, the effect of QRL on non-financial performance is higher in the female managers’ group. No significant differences were found between groups regarding the impact of QRL on financial performance. Therefore, the results show that female and male managers differ in the use of QCI and that those differences have implications for QRL and performance, notably non-financial performance. We will look in depth at these results and analyse their potential impacts on practice and theory.2023-01-01T00:00:00ZA educação para o empreendedorismo como fator de desenvolvimento económico e social. Abstract: RESUMO
Abstract: The project Up Start - Creative Industries is an initiative of the Aga Khan Foundation in partnership with the University of Évora and promoted by the Portugal Social Innovation program, focusing a particular synergy based in the areas of design for social innovation, heritage, and management. Its main objective is the development of an alternative economic model of socio-cultural innovation and creative practices with
disadvantaged citizens. It aims to increase the participants income and improve the living conditions of the communities involved, namely migrant populations from the Lisbon metropolitan area, through the identification and mapping of techniques, arts and crafts developed by migrants from their cultural heritage.2022-01-01T00:00:00Z
